Having a balance between work and home life can be a real challenge, but for NZPBC Associate Member Mark Guadalupe, having the opportunity to excel in the IT industry while managing time for his family makes it all worthwhile.
A Computer Science graduate from the Philippines, Mark got attracted to the industry early on in his life and saw it as an opportunity to get a job that pays more than the average population and use this as a tool to have his own business someday.
His current job is to lead efforts to design, develop, implement and deliver information technology solutions to enable healthcare professionals collaborate, communicate and work better together to enhance patient care. Another role he does is to research/identify scope and requirements, analyze/isolate key issues, recommend/implement new technologies, standard processes, tools and techniques to further the firm’s information technology solutions offerings to support the business. He also provides technical design and architectural leadership to projects to help ensure applications are integrated and adhere to stated architectural and design principles and standards.
Though he may have a lot on his plate, Mark always finds the time to be with his family especially during weekends. He and his wife, Thea, both spend quality time with their three children (10, 9 and 3 years old) in various activities in and out of their home and also within their community.
