Gene Bagsic

Gene currently works as a Barrister for Te Mata Law, a firm specialising in Maori Issues and Waitangi Tribunal claims. He also volunteers as a Duty Lawyer in Auckland District Court, advising on Criminal Law matters. He has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand since July 2008. He is also a qualified lawyer in the Philippines. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science and Juris Doctor degrees both from Ateneo de Manila University. He moved to New Zealand in 2006 and most of his family members are settled here. A native of Tarlac City, Philippines, he fluently speaks Kapampangan. Some of his other interests include travelling, movies, and music. He also enjoys running, playing table tennis, tennis, and badminton.
