The Inter-Pacific Bar Association ("IPBA") annual conference is being held in Auckland on 6 to 9 April this year with over 700 lawyers attending from all over the world. IPBA is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live in, or have a strong interest in, the Asia-Pacific region. It was established in April 1991 and has since grown to become the leading legal association in the Asia-Pacific region, and currently has over 1500 members from over 65 jurisdictions worldwide.
With the conference theme of “Connectivity and Convergence”, Gold Corporate Member, Chapman Tripp , in conjunction with NZPBC, hosted a function at the Glass Goose on 5 April 2017, inviting lawyers from Philippine law firms that are in Auckland for the conference. As Chapman Tripp’s Senior Associate, Ms Jai Nario said, this provided an opportunity for NZPBC to share our knowledge and experience of doing business in New Zealand as well doing business in or with the Philippines. It also gave NZPBC an opportunity to expand our network and more importantly gave us a chance to welcome fellow kababayans during their visit to New Zealand.
